Ingredients
  

  • 8 Pineapple Slices fresh
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter softened
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • ¼ Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Brandy or Rum optional

For Serving:

  • Vanilla Ice Cream

Instructions
 

  • Make the Cinnamon Butter: In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon powder until light and fluffy.

  • Prep the Pineapple: Spread an even layer of the cinnamon butter mixture over both sides of each pineapple slice.
    8 Pineapple Slices
  • Get Grilling: Preheat your charcoal or electric grill. Grill the pineapple slices on both sides for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly browned and caramelized.
  • Flambé (Optional): Always follow safety precautions when flambéing. Warm the brandy or rum in a ladle. Carefully pour the warmed liquor over the hot pineapple slices and tilt the pan slightly to ignite the fumes. Let the flames burn for a few seconds, then extinguish with a lid.

  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve your grilled pineapple slices immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
  • Don't have brandy or rum? You can omit the flambéing step altogether.
  • Bananas can be used in place of pineapple, or grill both fruits for a variety of flavors!
