Zero oil Gujarati Urad Dal Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup urad dal split black lentils
- 1 tbsp chana dal split whole gram lentils
- 2-3 cloves chopped garlic lehsun
- 1 medium size chopped tomato
- 2 chopped green chillies
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder haldi
- 3/4 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1/4 tbsp Cumin powder
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander dhania
- salt to taste
- 1 cup Water for boiling
- 1 cup Water to simmer
Instructions
- Clean, wash and soak the urad dal and chana dal in enough water in a bowl for 15 minutes. Drain well.1/2 cup urad dal, 1 tbsp chana dal
- Combine the urad dal and 1 cups of water in a pressure cooker, mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles on high flame and 8 mins on low flame.1/2 cup urad dal, 1 cup Water
- Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
- Add the tomatoes, garlic, green chilli , salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and 1 cup of water and mix well.2-3 cloves chopped garlic, 1 medium size chopped tomato, 2 chopped green chillies, 1 tbsp red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 3/4 tbsp Coriander Powder, 1/4 tbsp Cumin powder, salt to taste, 1 cup Water
- Bring to boil and cook on a slow flame for 15 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- In last 2 minutes of 15 mins, add the coriander and mix well.2 tbsp chopped coriander
- Serve hot.
